Never Take a Cold Shower Again

Sep 20, 2019 | By  right-time

Sometimes a cold shower can be refreshing in the summer, but don’t forget how bad they can be in the winter.

It’s hard enough getting out of your warm bed, it’s only going to make it harder if you’re fourth in line for the shower and your kids used up all the hot water. You shouldn’t have to worry about that anymore, and with Wardlaw, you won’t.

Upgrading your system to a tankless water heater could mean the end of cold showers.

Standard water heaters have a tank that is filled with water and pre-heated before you use it. The heating process can take a significant amount of time, so if you use all your hot water in a short time period, you’re stuck without hot water until it’s ready again.

Tankless systems can sometimes be referred to as instantaneous water heaters. They use a heat exchanger to rapidly prepare any hot water you need allowing for a cleaner, more efficient and more consistent flow of hot water. For a clear breakdown of why you’ll see improvements in each category, we have split them up:

Cleaner

Water that sits in the tank for an extended period of time can accumulate rust and scale and lower the quality of water you’re using. Water is often the mortal enemy of most machines and although these systems are prepped for holding water, not having to have a tank can mean less repair needs and your system can last up to two times longer than a tank system.

More Efficient

The storage of the water over a long period of time can use a lot of unnecessary energy. There can be times where you’re not using your hot water for an extended period of time, and for that reason, a tankless system won’t use any energy.

Tank systems however, have to continue to re-heat water even if you haven’t used any. The water sitting in the tank will eventually cool down and the system needs to keep it warm for whenever you decide to use it. That’s why tankless systems are called instantaneous, the water heats on-demand, whenever you need it.

Consistent Heat

This point is what you’ve been waiting for: On-demand hot water. Tankless water heaters are able to offer continuous hot water to one heating source at all times. If you take four or nine showers in a row, it will be hot by the last one.

If you have a tendency to run several hot-water appliances at once, some tankless systems can struggle with the load. Consult a Wardlaw professional and they can walk you through your options.

Remember, you can always ask the experts. At Wardlaw, we’re always available to answer your questions online, over the phone or in person. If you’re unsure if a tankless system is right for your home, get in touch and we can guarantee your comfort.
